Hope you all had a lovely weekend, I always go MIA at the start of a new fandom obsession, and this is exactly what happened.
-- I was trying to hold out on reading Generation Kill fic before I was done with the series (only two episodes left, I don’t want to be done) but
lauds linked me to GK/TWW crossover discussion that I was too weak to resist. And

I really want a GK fic which deals with don’t ask, don’t tell in some major way.
Yes! THIS! Methinks you should write it. *cheerleads*
Re: White Collar - I agree, the post-pilot eps been less than stellar... but as long as Matt Bomer looks fabulous I'll probably keep watching, sigh. Damn his penchant for sexy vintage clothes!

Haha, god, the idea of writing in the fandom is terrifying, I still don't understand half of what they say! I was hoping there would be a fic like that already in existence, are you saying there isn't? That's a shame, half of what fascinates is the politics (the pretty is the other half...)

Me too, he is so fabulous, I am willing to forgive a lot!

Hee, understandable. Repeated viewings are necessary (such a hardship, right? ;)) You can always write AUs in the meantime! *wink*

I've wondered about this, but I imagine it's because Brad/Nate is inherently dramatic/angsty without DADT factored in? idk. I would love to read an unflinchingly realistic take on B/N, especially how the platoon would react...
Have you read this fic? It isn't about DADT (though it's implied) but it deals with outside forces threatening their relationship, quite different from the usual B/N fare :)

Repeated viewings are very necessary, I am going to wait till the end and then watch it all in one go from the start. And then again...

Me too, omg, so much! I don't know why, I tend to hate angst, and you are right, Brad/Nate is inherently angsty, but for some reason I want more! I guess such realism would be fitting with the tone of the series? It is odd, from what I have read (which admittedly isn't very much) it seems that fics tend to gloss over it a little.
I haven't, but I will now! There is soo much I need to read, I really tried to be patient. Totally failed.
