Ten days with which to vacation.

In my job, I only get to roll over three weeks' worth of vacation each year. This means I have to use up a certain amount of vacation before September 30 this year. I decided to snag the entire week before Labor Day, which means I effectively have Saturday, August 29 through Monday, September 7 to vacation with. Well, I'll probably be taking interstates to get back north.

Right now the schedule is very nebulous. My thinking is something along the lines of:

Day 1: drive through New England, camp somewhere in mid-western Connecticut/outer New York
Day 2: take public transit/bike into New York City, play tourist for the day

And so forth. I'll lay out general goals and see where to go from there.

s far as New England goes, there is a very scenic/historic area in New York called Hyde Park which I can strongly recommend:
