About a decade or so back, I stumbled over an author named Michaele Roessner. As far as I know, she only published three books... but all of them I found fantastically good. I love these books! And wow, has it been a while since I've read them. I wis there was a third one to wrap it up - if I remember right, it ends...not on a cliffhanger, exactly, but with a lot of stuff left loose?

I know! The way (without giving away any spoilers) it ends totally left me going "Yes, and...? What's next?!?" I have to wonder if she just stepped away from book-writing, since her web page is nonspecific on it... or whether, maybe, her publishers weren't as interested any more despite how good the books were.

Sadly, I suspect well-written mystical Renaissance dramas aren't as huge of a benefit to the publisher's bottom line as they deserve to be. : (

Then again, looking at Catherine de'Medici's Wiki page, her life from that point on with the marriage to Henry wasn't particularly great. Massaging it into a workable narrative after the marriage, particularly since that period of history has probably been far more heavily chronicled, would be tough. Maybe it was only meant to be a duology. : )
