In the U.S., today is Election Day. For everyone. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, EVERYONE. So get out there and vote. The polls are generally open from 7 am to 8 pm.
Hey! I'm not at the other computer where I can send email, but if you wanted to take that other offer for an election night get-together, that would probably be cool. I'm not feeling well and could probably stand to make an early night of it.
Past 8 pm and you think they might not let you vote? Stay. The fuck. In line. (By law, if you are in line before the poll's official closing time, they HAVE to let you vote.)
And a lot of people did. However, many states -- like Massachusetts -- only grant absentee ballots if you're going to be out of town or otherwise unavailable on the election date.

I woke up at 5AM to beat the voting lines this morning. I was out in half an hour.
