This looks really good. I was just this morning thinking how much I needed a wok again, and then I browse through my flist entries, and lo! A decent recipe for it.

I shall use bamboo shoots though. Can't stand celery.

You're the second person I know who can't stand celery. *grin*

Where do you track down bamboo shoots? I haven't been able to find them at my local markets. Bean sprouts, sure, julienned carrot bits, sure, but not bamboo shoots. : (

Probably in my back garden. I have bamboo growing wild there. Or at least, slightly annoyed. Failing that, in the nearest Chinese food wholesaler I can find. Luckily, I live not too far from London, so there's always that as a fall back.

As a last resort, I believe it used to be possible to get them in cans.

Hmmm, actually I think I may have seen them at the local broad-variety discount market. They carry some really esoteric stuff, actually...
