title: He Followed Me Home Because He Loves Me
rating: G
summary: Blaine brings home a puppy. Kurt is less than pleased. I know, there's probably 50 of these.
author's note: I wrote fluff? What? How did that happen? (For my wifey, blueb1rd.)

"No," Kurt said firmly, not sure whether to fix his gaze on his incorrigible fiancé or the tiny little dachshund in his arms.

"But, Kuuuurt," Blaine whined, cradling the squirming little creature like it was something precious. Damn thing looked like it wanted to pee on everything he loved. Was that dog glaring? Can dogs even glare? "He followed me home," he continued, babbling in baby talk at this point in the conversation, "he loves me, so he followed me home."

"He obviously didn't just follow you home, Blaine," he said with an exasperated sigh, "I saw the credit card slip."

"But he loves me," the shorter man repeated, his bottom lip jutting out. Oh, so this was the game they were playing.

"You're exhausting," Kurt sighed, the fondness in his tone betraying him. He sat down on the couch, eying the tiny creature suspiciously. Blaine looked positively smitten. Perhaps teaching him little responsibility wouldn't be a terrible thing. God, it was like raising a child. He motioned for Blaine to sit beside him, tentatively reaching out to pat the puppy on the head. "So I suppose he's already told you his name?"

"Maxwell," Blaine grinned, scratching the pup behind his ears, "he prefers Max though. Maxwell was his father's name."

"Again, you are exhausting," Kurt said as he leaned his head against the wall behind the sofa, the weight of Blaine's stupidity weighing heavily upon him. He studied Blaine and the creature for a moment, "but, I suppose we can have a.. trial period--"

"Thank you, baby," Blaine beamed, leaning over to peck him on the corner of the mouth. Kurt found himself leaning into the kiss, hoping his good deed for the week was about to get rewarded. Wrong, so wrong. When he opened his eyes, Blaine and the creature were already halfway up the stairs, and he was babbling things like "let's go get your bed set up, you're going to looove it here" and "I told you that he'd say yes. You never listen, Max."

"That thing is not sleeping in our room, just so that's clear!" Kurt called after him. No response. "Blaine? Blaine?!"
