The whole plot felt a little disjointed to me, like they cut out a lot but left in other stuff that didn't make sense without the missing scenes. I'm wondering how people who have not read the book will interpret it, if they'll be able to follow the whole thing.
I felt that way BIG TIME with the third movie. They cut out all the stuff about the Marauders that would explain why Lupin knew about the map and Peter and all that at the end. The first time I saw that movie, I hadn't read the books yet, and that didn't make a lick of sense, but I was mostly able to follow it anyway. I think it helped that I had an avid Potter fan sitting next to me, though.
I haven't seen this one yet, though, but I'm reading people's posts and trying to guage reactions. I want to go in with realistic expectations this time, I guess. :)
yeah, I was really disappointed in the third movie for cutting that stuff out. I watched it with Jeff and had to explain a lot of stuff to him, which I really think shouldn't happen in the movie form. I think they should just take the extra five minutes of screentime to explain it, even though probably a majority of the audience will already know the information.
Hee. On a related note that your icon reminded me of: I spent a good 45 minutes on Sunday trying to convince two of my friends of the undying immortal love between Remus and Sirius, and they would have none of it. Their defense was always, "But he's with Tonks!" BAH! :)
