Aion.

Today I feel that I'd like joining Aion to RP there, since I've heard that one of the servers is full of RPers. I still remember my (mostly failed) attempts to RP in Ragnarok Online back in the day, and I kinda miss the experience of trying to RP in a MMORPG ( Read more... )

rp, mmorpg

Nu, if I play it, I want to RP! Otherwise, playing for the sake of it is boring, since it's a MMORPG and those have nothing interesting to offer ;

Nooooo, you create a character and give them life making them react to the world! Aren't you a RPer too? You should know those things (^^;

I tried to RP in RO the most I could, but conversations tended to be like this:

-Random person: hi where r u from.
-My character: Izlude, sir!
-Random person: lol. no seriously.
-My character: I'm serious. I was born in Izlude...
-random person: lol.

In other words, RPing was difficult *laughs* (and I sure didn't want to share my personal information with random people. What for??). But Aion has whole clans dedicated to RP, so I heard, so it must be easier to RP there!

Try it! It's fun (^^)
You know how Elyos think that Asmodians are brute and cruel, and how Asmodians think that Elyos are weak and pretentious or something like that... just give your character beliefs according to how they've been raised.

I want my Elyos character to actually befriend an Asmodian, even if they can't talk at all because they speak different languages (*A*)
But this would be impossible in game because we simply can't communicate, not even just to write gestures.

I never do rp in communities like that, besides the time factor, you never know how good some one(s) is going to be, if there is going to be Mary-Sewage, how original their grammar and how little or vast their vocabulary might be, etc.
It's so hard to get good rping going now a days, I literally end up reviewing people like it's a job application; 'Tell me about your character' 'Show me a post from any rp you've done recently, or writing you've done' 'How committed are you'.

Haha, well, the thing about RPing in MMORPGs is that the RP happens (or should happen) naturally; you are supposed to see how your character explores the place, and then they suddenly run into any other adventurer and the story starts rolling. If the other person is good RPing, who knows, you might get an awesome plot going on! I've heard that RPers from MMORPGs are usually more mature than most players, which doesn't surprise me because those games are full of 1337 kids who aren't popular enough at school, and need to boost their egos by p0wning people in an online game *sweatdrops*.
But yes, it can be an interesting experience if done right (^^)

But right now I think that I'd rather join any LJ comm as a DN chara and RP there.

Yo también quiero hacer RP en un videojuego, pero todos los intentos que he hecho han sido un desastre... Una vez incluso se llegaron a crear que era un NPC inteligente creado por el administrador del servidor (=_=;

Si llegas a inscribirte en algún MMORPG, dímelo~ Me haría mucha ilusión hacer RP contigo~ (^^)

Qué guay que tú también quieras hacer RP (^o^)
He oído que algunos MMORPGs tienen servidores especiales para hacer RP, que suena a puro paraíso. Lo malo es que eso sólo pasa en los juegos occidentales, donde los personajes son feos como ellos solos y a mí no me inspiran nada ;;

Estoy por meterme en un servidor pirata del Aion, pero dudo mucho que me encuentre a alguien que haga RP ahí (o a alquien en general, hahaha). Así que estaríamos bien solitas, ummm.
