I'm here to announce our big kuroganefai summer contest with its amazing prize pool will be delayed for one week, so it starts on July 6 and ends on August 8. hang_nga_79, our main organizer, is not in the best health condition right now and we really would prefer to get

So there isn't a theme or a prompt-- it's just free for all?

And on the subject of posting, can we only post to this comm until after the challenge? Or can we post to other communities and our own journals?

Since some people asked, we decided to provide an optional theme this time and a bonus chance for contestants who follow the theme to win a prize (we will post the details later). The theme hasn't been decided yet.

We give the deadline an extension till August 8. However, the contest hasn't started yet. It will officially begin on July 6 so you have a bit more than a month to get everything posted, if it's a multi-chapter fic.

As for cross-posting, I'll give you a definite answer after I discuss it with the other mods, but you are certainly welcome to start working on your fanwork (if you choose not to follow the theme) as long as you are not posting it to anywhere yet.
