auughhhh there's a dead snapping turtle on the curb right across the street. His shell's kind of beat up but he looks to be in good shape otherwise. I reaaalllyyyy want to have his skeleton (I already have a box turtle I found a few years ago) but I don't really have anywhere to put him. Maybe I could get him over to the lake next to my house? That

I'd jump on that really quickly, if I were you. I'm also a bit of a roadkill stealer :x Animal parts are really fascinating, and you're right about them being useful in art-- skulls, especially ones mostly in-tact, make awesome references or still life models. My mom is actually completely supportive, and will totally pull the car up so we can put whatever it is in the back of the truck. HELL YEAH, TOTAL CREEPERS

we get some awesome stuff around here, I wish I had the space to skin/tan some of this stuff, not just let it rot away and pick out the bones. Saw a baby fox a few weeks ago, perfect, just lying there. Few years back saw a huge adult in the median, again just there. UGH. SUBURBS.
ALAS. All these dead things going to waste.
