Kurogane is in the kitchen. So is Fai, but Fai has been allowed to simply sit and play with whatever he wants at the kitchen table. Kurogane, on the other hand, is going to be cooking. It's a pretty rare occurance that he can be bothered, but for Fai he's willing to do it. He begins by chopping up the vegetables, slicing them quickly and expertly.

Fay is sitting at the table with a pencil and paper, since he learned pretty early on that the paint is messy and non-edible messy doesn't do well in the kitchen. He looks up when Kurogane speaks, the look on his face indicating that he doesn't know a few of those key words. "Can I help?" he asks, ready to pop up and help.

"You can help mix the batter if you'd like, or you can continue drawing." Kurogane isn't surprised at Fai's lack of knowledge in that area but has chosen foods he's sure he'll enjoy anyway. He puts the kettle on whilst he waits for Fai's answer.

He does hop up, moving to stand by Kurogane quickly. "I want to help." He smiles up at him, eager to do what he can, catching at Kurogane's hand with his own.

Kurogane chuckles and ruffles Fai's hair. "You're a good boy." He cracks a couple of eggs into a bowl full of flour, pours a little water in and hands it to Fai along with a spoon. "Can you stir this for me?"
