Kurogane brings the quivering child into their kitchen, guessing that this is Fai's most pressing concern at the moment. He eschews the elaborate, knowing what Fai needs is food right now. He brings out a selection of cold meats, cheeses, bread, quiche and sausage rolls and places them in front of Fai. Water is brought with them, to satiate Fai's

Fay is unused to things like "hospitality"; he is surprised at the amount of food placed in front of him, and eats and drinks tentatively at first. The longer he's allowed to do so, though, the more he relaxes, and he eats like a starving boy... he isn't, but really only just.

When he's full he doesn't know what to do. So he sits in the chair uncertainly, looking at Kurogane as if asking what to do next. Food and water may have been his most pressing physical concerns, but emotionally and psychologically all he wants is human contact again, and he isn't going to ask for that. (At least, not at this stage.)

Kurogane gently pats Fai's head when he's done eating and drinking, smiling at him to reassure him of his good intentions. "Let's get you cleaned up," he says, and offers his hand to lead Fai to the bathroom.

Fay blinks at the patting, still obviously unused to the attentions, but doesn't hesitate before taking Kurogane's hand and following him. Upon inspection, his clothes are probably much too worn and dirty to be worn much longer anyway, he looks like he hasn't had a bath in weeks (surprisingly only weeks), and his hair is a tangled mess that would probably be easier just to cut than to even try combing out.

Kurogane leads Fai into the room and starts running a bath for him. He bends and takes a close look at Fai. "Fai, would you mind if I cut your hair?" he asks, softly. "It could hurt you if I try to brush all these tangles out."
