The family reunion that was supposed to take break over Obon Yasumi never happened. On the day we were meant to go, Ryu's mother called to tell us one of Ryu's older brothers and his family -- who were staying at the house-- had started coming down with fevers. She worried that it was COVID and that it was best not to take Reo. It did turn out to ( Read more... )

Aww the purikura of you and your friend looks exactly how they used to. You both look the same as you did years ago, that's awesome.

I'm glad that getting out alone was like a reset for you.

Reo is so adorable as always!!

Thank you. I definitely don't feel as young as I might look! Lol.

It's unfortunate we won't be able to meet every month as we did, but it can't be helped. We'll just have to enjoy it more when we do meet!

He's growing too fast. It makes be a bit sad.

Glad you got to get some me-time. Ah, colleagues politics. Yes, use Reo to leave work on time.

I haven’t seen 2000 yen notes, is that part of the new circulation? I heard the old ones will phase out in 2024.

Colleague politics are always...something. Luckily, I'm quite tolerant because the pay is decent. Otherwise...

There is no new circulation of 2,000yen bills. The ones out now are from the original commemoration batch. I know they have no intention of printing more, but they might make more appearances as there is increased travel between Okinawa and the mainland.

Cute!!

So wonderful that you're getting some "you" time. ♥

I hear you about BLW. I was the exact same!

Thank you! I sometimes wish I had more me time, but truthfully the baby grows so fast that even when Ryu gives me the opportunity to go out, I often don't take it.

How did you finally transition in to BLW? Or is it something you're still working on?

I started with soft foods like avocado and banana. There's a cool thing you do with banana where you cut it in half and peel it slightly so they have the peel to grip.

After that, meatballs were and still are great! With lots of veggies in them, too. You have to cut them in quarters.

Then I just added things in but we're still working on it. River doesn't like a lot of foods or textures yet!

I do that with Banana. It's the only actual solid I give him. There isn't a huge variety here, unfortunately, so even when I step more in to BLW, I'm not sure what I'll provide.

I don't find the daily currency all that pretty -- but the 2,000 is just so nice! Part of me wishes they would print more, but apparently many people found them inconvenient. Guess the beauty is in the rarity!
