Interesting to note that the characters used for "Michiyo" are in katakana.

I'm not exactly certain of that translation either, as none of that word has anything to do with numbers.

Only one of the characters can be translated as a numeral.

San. the first character, which does indeed mean three.

Thousand, however, I'm pretty sure is "Zen"... which would make that a completely different name.

BUT! if you translate the first characters as katakana (being from a language that is not native Oriental), it is MiChi (and the kanji character I can only assume is Yo).
