My flight has been cancelled because of the volcanic eruption in Iceland. FUCK IT.
Wait, so NOW of all the bloody days it had to erupt and spread ashes in the direction of the wind?

I have about 3 insurances, but none can get me my money refunded. The only option I have is waiting until I can get my flight rebooked. However, the eruption can go on ( Read more... )

Don't stress, dear. I had a similar situation when I was in Rome and unable to fly into London because of that snowstorm there, and I was freaking out probably as much as you are, especially because my connecting flight was with a completely different airline. If I can give you some advice: almost everyone trying to fly out of your country will be having the exact same problem. There's no way they (as airlines or even insurance companies) can leave you stranded like that, so just keep your ears and eyes open.

Do you have a changeover with your flight? You might look into booking a separate flight to your first destination, then connect on to the flight to Japan. That's sort of what I ended up doing.

Good luck! ♥

Oh, that is really too bad. :/

If things don't work out for this week, is it possible for you to rebook your flight and come after school is finished, this summer? I know it would mean missing Yukigumi and having to re-sell your show tickets, but you would still get a chance to see Japan.

I don't know if it's possible to resell my show tickets and get there in time since it's just a matter of few days :(
But however, if I'm not able to go there at all for now, I'm definitely FORCING them to give me my money back and rebook at another date, preferrably in June ( obviously, hehe ). I do get some compensation from my insurances though, so I shouldn't lose too much if I get my flight money back. ^^

I am so sorry things are not going smoothly for you and Debbie. But keep your chin up! We'll all get there somehow! (And then celebrate with big ice cream sundaes!)

Thank you, but I just wish I could solve the problem by booking a seperate flight to my first destination, but both London Heathrow and Copenhagen Airport are closing their airspaces. Most of Europe is like this now, Europe is kinda screwed now. So there's no way to travel to England, and there's no way to travel from England and that's my flight to Japan. The only thing I can do for now is wait for more news.
