well. apparently they didn't think that i'd be interested in having dinner with them. yeah, i live in my cave, BUT, my cave is in dad's house. i live here. i don't mean to sound pretentious, but dammit doesn't that make me have some priority or something over people who don't live here

Or, they may have misread the message of "Damn, it's cold!" as the message I (and possibly others) would have been sending if the door was closed. I.e., "Leave me the fuck alone."

Or they could have asked.

i've told dad several times over the past week that the door is closed because it's cold and i'd like to heat my room and not the rest of the house, thus not spending more energy than has to be.

i think i told dan as well.

eh, sounds like my family so long ago. they know you're there but they don't think really because you're a constant in their environment.
