For some reason which remains a mystery to me, we are having constant interruptions of service on our electrical system in the city. Just seconds long incidents which are only noticed because the UPS attached to the computers beep when it happens. Three have been long enough to reset the clocks in the kitchen and on the answering machine. I have

Obviously. Just as I posted this, the power went entirely out and stayed off for four hours. I was ready to go on a murderous rampage. It was only the six or so houses down here at the bottom of the hill who lost power. *insert your own colourful curses here*

I feel for you :) The power used to go out in Ann Arbor, MI almost once a month, or so it seemed. We've the exact opposite problem here-Victoria's under water restrictions.

As I have mentioned before, this is the tail end of a line and has the habit of going dark whenever an opportunity to do so arises. When a new family moves into this neighbourhood, I give them a kerocese lamp as a house-warming gift. They will need it.

Thank you for the review. The bonding experience amongst the four and the way sharing stress can affect that is one of the themes of this story. Also, it is amusing me to see how carefully I can evolve Nooj. LOL

Another of my acqauintances in Oz had told me about your water restrictions. We were under such, rigourously, for three years and are still warned to be careful in spite of all the recent rain. I hope your drought breaks soon.
