Title: Waiting for the Right Partner Pairing: Steve/Tony pre-slash Fandom - Avengers (movieverse), Captain America (2011) Warnings: not beta'd, all mistakes are my own. Notes: A sequel to A Man and His Shield
I could read an epic of you writing inside Steve's head! Just love your portrayal of his intelligence plus his emotional intelligence plus his essential goodness. His realization about bullies, just--yes. And I can't wait to see more of Steve with Tony!
Thank you so much! I can't tell you how nervous I was when I was posting this. Sometimes I think that my fascination with character studies might get int he way of the actual story, so I'm glad you enjoyed it, too. I have some really wonderful moments in mind for more Tony and Steve, fear not! LOL!
This was just great! It was so fascinating and intense, and I loved it. That makes you sort or evil too, :D because this story was eating a handful of potato chips, now I just want More! Grins, Steve was so warm, and true, and real despite acknowledging his own faults, and waiting for the others to learn to acknowledge him for who he is. Also the way you have Tony's genius on display, but you have to cognizant that it's there, and he has to let you catch glimpses of it to see it. This pairing has the potential to be so explosive, and you capture that. Lovely. :D -SB
Hee! Can't eat just one! I'm so glad that you enjoyed Thinky!Steve. To me, he's a deeply honorable man, who's had a lot of life experience in a relatively short amount of time. I like to get inside his head and see how he became the man that we know and love, today. And I totally inteded for there to be more Tony, but I guess that's going to wait until the next installement. Thank you so much for commenting!
Thank you! I admit that I'm basically a DC girl, so the only Steve I know is from the movieverse. That being said it's a real accomplishment to be told that my character voices sound right to folks. I totally have more in mind for this series, but Tony was being coy. More next time!
Thank you so much. These are my first attempts writing in the fandom, and I'm so relieved that the voice sounds authentic. And thanks for commenting - it spurs me on to greater fic writing. :-)
Very nice little story. I love the characters. You've written them so well that you start and before long, you're done and you're saying, 'I want more'. LOL
I'll be in the Sentinel fandom till the day I drop. But I like new shiny places to be now and then. So this was a nice change. A friend of mine has me listening to Leverage fic and I don't even watch the show. LOL

I totally had intended for there to be more to this story, but Tony was being coy. Next installment will be a threesome - Steve/Tony/his shield. :-)
