The sun has actually set an hour or two ago and she's about to head back to town but decided to make a post while her Pokemon catch their breath. A newly caught Wooper is leaning against her happily while Tomoe, Butterfree, and Dunsparce chill around as well.]So I'm thinking about ( Read more... )

[video] It's like a P4 party! :D fortunatewings August 25 2010, 00:32:00 UTC
That depends on which Pokémon you have and what their abilities are. Type strengths and weaknesses must be taken into account.

Ugh, right. I forgot about that. What type does he have again? Birds or something like that?

I have learned that all of his Pokémon share the flying type. I don't know which secondary types they may have, though.

Jeez... Why can't it just be a match between strength?

[all this type stuff is reminding her of the shadows. where's Rise to shout out their weaknesses when you need her?]

Did he do something bad?

kungfumaniac August 25 2010, 00:38:45 UTC
Nope! It's just that he's really strong and accepts challenges. A sparring match so you and your Pokemon can test themselves. He even gives a prize if you win along with bragging rights!

A lot of people take him up on that challenge too.

Oh, you're new here?

[BROTASTIC TRAINING BUDDIES? YOU BET. here's a Neku wandering up and flopping so gracefully on his back on the ground. 2 and the crew have been returned to their Pokéballs, but Fish (as the team favorite, u kno u kno) hobbles up a few feet behind him.

Neku spares Chie a cursory glance to see what she's doing before looking up at ~*the sky.

and then performing one of the best double takes ever performed, sitting up and pointing at the Wooper.]

You caught one? Voluntarily?!

[Sup bro. Did you enjoy your FULL DAY of being dragged around for training? You better have! She has to do this or your fish would stay level twenty forever.]

Yup! I even named him Shorty after you. Isn't he just the cutest.

[and Shorty the Wooper stands up straight and toddles over to the Neku with a "Wooooop~"]

[THEY GOT TO LEVEL 20 WITHOUT YOUR HELP, OKAY.]

I -- You -- What?!

[Neku does not have time for you, tiny Wooper. Fish, however, ambles over and peers down at Shorty with a big, stupid grin on his face. tiny frieeennd.]

[SURE BUT HOW LONG WAS THAT GONNA LAST?]

You're just like a Wooper. The resemblance is uncanny!

[Trying to hold back laughter at your reaction. Tiny Wooper just lightly headbutts Fish's stomach and leans there. for a bit. best of friends in the making, man.]

Use a rock or electric type!

I happen to have both, so I'm planning to finally take him on later in the week.

Really? Damn, I don't have either. What about fighting and bug though?

[both are weak, sorry Chie, you made a horrible teams for the first gym.]

Er... I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but flying is actually super effective against both of those...

I defeated him recently, and my Azumarril knowing a rock type attack really helped.

I heard that a lot. I only got my Dunsparce who knows Roll Out though... He's kind of lazy too. I don't even know if he'd want to battle.

Well, you certainly shouldn't force them if they don't want to.

It'll just be a... gentle push in the right direction is all.
