Stolen Music/Fandom Meme aka THE SUPERFANMIX Meme

Nov 08, 2009 17:38

Stealing this idea from firthgal (who stole it from fandom_memes appropriately enough).

(1) Pick one of your favorite albums, or just an album that you like;
(2) Choose a fandom;
(3) Associate each track to a character or a pairing.

Album: Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabies
Fandom: Freaks & Geeks

We find ourselves in the same old mess... )

mems, freaks & geeks, fandoms, flogging molly

You know, Freaks and Geeks is one of the few classic cult teen shows that I never did watch. I keep meaning to and just never get around to it. I am going to have to make more of an effort now.

I think I was watching this while everyone else was watching Buffy ;)

I think I especially love it because I can relate a bit to both the freaks and the geeks in the show. And it's just different than your average teen high school show.

Oh - and I think it's something like ~13 episodes, so it does make for an easy viewing of the complete series. (*cough*unliketheSEVENfreakinseasonsofBuffy*cough*)

Thanks for posting this to the Freaks and Geeks comm...I enjoyed reading it, but also, this looks like too much fun. =]

Thanks - it *was* fun to do. And there were several characters I could have used in several situations. But I love how much that show is really an ensemble show - and I love all the characters, haha.

Yeah, it seems like it would be a great show for this meme. The one I picked actually ended up being more limited, but oh well. This was fun nonetheless.

'If I Ever Leave This World Alive' is one of the finest songs ever written. Fullstop. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, then it sneaked up on me and flattened me one day. :D

As a general rule, I don't really process the lyrics to a song the first time I hear it. Or the second, third, fourth...... especially music like FM - I just kind of get swept away by the energy and sounds. And I ♥ when that happens all of a sudden - you already kind of love a song, and then you *really* get it.

There are certain artists I must approach with caution, 'cos they're likely to flatten me. Hrm. That's the second time I've used that metaphor...need to come up with something else. :D Seriously. I've bought records before and then kept them a while looking at them and thinking 'what will you do to me when I've listened to you'. Flogging M, the Pogues, and Ani D are much that way. Oh, and Susan McKeown - but for mostly different reasons.
