KFM vs. Tetsujin 28!

ng_nighthawk excitedly told me about the 18 meter tall statue of Mitsuteru Yokoyama's popular manga and anime character Tetsujin 28 in Kobe's Shinnagata district. I knew of a similar structure in Tokyo, the giant Gundam, but this one is much closer. I decided that for my first day of Winter Vacation, I was going to play with a giant robot.

Ah, dude, I need to go there before I leave in May. Maybe sometime over the break. Lord knows I'll have the time. Looks awesome.

It doesn't even take a full day to get there and back, leaving you plenty of time in the afternoon to do whatever. Plus, everyone is really amused at seeing gaijins who are fans.

Ada said, after watching the clip of you touching the robot, "Jehwee again! I want Jehwee! Jehwee!" It was duly played again. :)

Awww... there's really no need, as the pics are really gift enough.

But if you insist, the take-off version is all action-y and stuff.

I will have to show the kids some Tetsujin 28 stuff so they can appreciate it.

Let this clip be a lesson to you--keeping thousands of tons of TNT next to your HQ is not smart planning.

Maybe they could have just pointed the heat ray at the bunker containing preposterous amounts of TNT? Or the not so secret base, for that matter.

That flash heat/cold treatment couldn't have been good on poor T-28's frame or circuitry.

:D You are adorkable.

...And it's not just you. T-28/Daibutsu sparring match would be AWESOME.

Well, I have to keep myself busy, you know. And if being silly and whatnot helps pass the time, so be it.
