I had meant to mention, I actually picked Final Fantasy XI up again after all these months of non-play. I had been paying all this time, 'cause I never officially quit... just didn't play anymore... and when I got logged on recently to cut payment for February 'cause I'm not going to be able to afford it, I never got back off. :/

Hmm... yeeeeaaaaah... I 'spose.

'Cept when I put up my flag for invites, wait all night, finally get one, disconnect a few times, spend 20 minutes trying to get a teleport, then once I get to the party... someone's dead/leaving/on the phone/eating/shitting/etc., etc. all night long.

I spend about four hours getting 2,000 experience, and the party decides it's done when I'm a battle away from leveling.

Fun, fun. :/

And that's as fun as it sounds. FFXI isn't a very good game, or a healthy one. You should suck it up and quit.

I'm currently in the "pay but don't play" wagon with WoW. Such a waste of money. I'm in a friendly guild so I feel guilty about the prospect of quitting. I am dumb.

I don't think any of these MMORPGs are very good games. Let's take the online aspect out... the living, breathing worlds filled with thousands of other players... gone. Now what do you get? A really boring fscking game that next to no one would want to play.

I just have problems letting go of all those people. That and I vowed to at least finish my Red Mage artifact armor before I quit fer good.

The only MMORPG that I've ever really liked is Phantasy Star Online.

PSO is more of just an online game than an MMO. It's close, but not quite worthy of the MMO cigar.
