So, I've never been to a convention before and I've recently pre-registered for Kumoricon and am really excited but a little nervous seeing as I'll only know the two friends I'm bringing with me.

So in other words, any tips for a n00b?

I guess I'm just nervous because it is something I've never done before. I'm sure people will be friendly though, and I think I'll stick to taking pictures (at least for this one)

Come to the Fan Creation Station! It's a great, active hangout room.

Bring fruit, granola bars and lots of water. you'll get really fucking tired of eating pocky and drinking ramune by the second day.
Make sure to get sleep too. D: and bathe. the convention will still be here when you get back. :D

Tips... hmm... I guess the only tip I really have is to have as much fun as humanly possible. I was really nervous at my first Kumoricon (and first con as well), too, but as soon as I got there I realized that I'd have nothing to worry about. Despite only knowing my friend who dragged me along, I met a lot of really friendly people and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

That said, it is really important to eat more than just Pocky and drink more than Ramune (and Bawls). While good for short bursts of energy, by the end of the con you'll feel like a zombie anyway, and you don't need the sugar (and/or caffeine) crash making it worse.

Bathing is essential, too. I may just be lucky, but I haven't encountered too many unwashed people at K-Con (Sakuracon on the other hand…). If/when you do, though, it's not a pleasant experience, so bathe to keep it pleasant for yourself and others. :D

Sleep's also pretty important. I mean, if you're too tired to function/have fun, what's the point? ^_^

I hope you have lots of fun at the con!
