What a strange event. I guess some of it had to do with being tired going in and it being a really low energy event. I actually napped three times over the course of the event.
The final Alkeric mod was one of the many highlights to my weekend. It was the first large scale troubadour thing I've done so far that I actually felt important and helpful.
I got goosebumps when we started the group song. The way that our voices filled the room was beautiful. I was also really pleased with the "Lad from Avanlei" performance with Terra and Halia. I remember thinking while we were singing it though that it sounded a bit too happy to go with fighting a vampire, but I liked the change in tempo for the fight.
Your performance with Tashka and the perfect timing of Danielle stepping up was PERFECT! I loved it and it was a good way to end the fight with Alkeric. I can't help but hum along with that song. So catchy!!
Actually, I thought the change in mood for "Lad from Avenlei" was awesome. As much as I was enjoying the previous music, I found myself thinking, "This doesn't really strike me as the right kind of music for duels or fighting. It needs to be more upbeat", so your song was great for that.
- Chat with Elder in which I found out all sorts of stuff no one else has even bothered to ask her
Had fun with that, too. It was one of those things that was always in the back of my mind, but I wasn't sure if it'd ever come out/be relevant. But darn you for bringing it up when I was cold and mostly braindead. Trying to remember something I'd made up 3 years earlier under those conditions was not the easiest thing. :-P
- Going over to Dark Madrigal and helping get a power source for the Mistress of Vampires - Ezrem and Tashka both so creepy. I'm a little used to slightly creepy Ezrem, but dark Tashka? *shudder* And I totally loved the RP with dark Ezrem over a candle.
Glad that was fun. I wanted *so* much to be a fly on the wall for the first part of that encounter.
The final Alkeric mod was so much fun to watch....I am glad I opted to be with the singers. My back was hurting pretty bad so fighting may have been more aggravation.
I do hope that the angst and drama from Saturday to the end of the event didn't take away things from your event. I know I was in the center of a lot of it, but i did try to keep out of peoples way as I know a lot of people don't want to be forced into that type RP. Afterall its gotta be tough enough to watch a fat man sit on a porch and weep :)
The angst and drama skewed things for Zephyr, not for Rick. I was having a fine time, as is usual for me even in the worst situations.
I had finally hit my Zephyr stride, whereby he is bright and bubbly and cheery and everyone else was depressed and fighting every effort to be cheered up.
The OOG depression for some people made me a bit sad after game though, but it certainly didn't impact my event. I'm glad you had fun with it. :-)
What an odd pair Zephyr and Ezrem have become. The final Alkeric mod rocked, and Ezrem was so glad Shadowfane was onboard with that without needing to be convinced!
Since when did we become the Vampiric Aid Society?create_universeNovember 13 2012, 18:44:08 UTC
That is actually something I noted at the time, and I couldn't decide how I felt about it. With both this mod and the mod Saturday night to retrieve the lantern I tend to think they got little opposition mostly due to how they were presented. Both were clearly set piece town mods which were presented to us just before we went on them. There wasn't much of an opportunity to object. As an example, by the time most of us were told that we were about to go get the lantern with the help of the Mistress, the Mistress was already standing there, Kalam was giving the mod briefing and the NPC's were already set up and waiting for us. Just from a practical standpoint it would have been very difficult to try to bring up an objection at that point

I think you've laid that all out well. A note on the Lantern- while the method to retrieve it may have ended up rushed in terms of choice, retrieving the artifact itself was very important for far more than vampires.
As to helping Alkeric, well .. perhaps that is more a question for Ezrem IG than for me to get into here. :)
