That is an excellent museum. If you have time, check out the Royal Army Museum, which isn't that far away.

The IWM is one of my favorite museums. Paris also has a fair military museum.

i've been to the heeresgeschichtliches museum in vienna
THAT was really nice (even though it was winter and the tank area was closed - GRRR)

You aren't going to be anywhere near Denmark the week of the 21st are you?

Bleargh! Why do you hate me :p

Not sure which city I will be in that week, but I am imagining it is Copenhagen or Vijle (LEGOS!!) I have friends in Horsens, but thought it might be cool to bump into you if you would be there.

If I am heading to Copenhagen, where should I go for after-work fun stuffs?

Oo! I want to see the camo exhibit with you! It sounds really fabulous. Now if only I wasn't halfway across the world in SF. Oh well, I hope you enjoy it though!

Interesting. Today I heard from a mutual friend of ours that you apparently have a military historian alter ego.

heh
not really an alter ego, just hanging out under the latex.
it pops up once in a while in drunken ramblings at parties if certain topics are brought up. (whether or not people know what i'm talking about is not certain).

history was my major. was going for military history minor. i like genocide of the 20th century. er, i like studying genocide of the 20th century.

How would you say 20th century genocide is different? Something besides scale?

kumimonster May 10 2007, 07:57:22 UTC
not necessarily more massive or horrific
but i had to pick some area of study since it was so massive.

pol pot, stalin, milosevic, rape of nanking, rwanda, young turks, and ww2 (obviously) etc...

for a little while i was also looking at cultures being wiped out as well (example, the hawaiian culture and the US) but it's just so huge so i decided to stick with predominantly intentional terror and murder by (political) goverment agencies.
