It turns out that the collegium to end all collegiums was on the 10th of April, not the 20th. So on last Tuesday. When Bossette asked someone after the event, the talk I overheard was that the vote was split between keeping the library and merging it ( Read more... )

Well, shit. I know the feeling of The Axe Looming Overhead, and it's a wretched, unsettling feeling. I will continue to think good thoughts on your behalf, and hope that somehow the job situation works out for the best.

Does your dad's surgery mean that at least he'll be out of the house for a few days so you can turn off the LOUD Russian TV...?

Am going to talk with the überboss tomorrow (if/when I see him) and tell him that I am very willing to apply for the possible post in the merged library because they should need a person who KNOWS the collection. Probably point out the plans my Bossette already brewed about retiring herself... maybe...uh.

It means ONE evening without Russian TV, as he stays overnight. Thank the dogs for little favours.

Uberboss is favorable to you, isn't he? Or am I thinking of the person who was in charge before the previous relocation? Anyway, I hope it goes well, and that he considers the very reasonable point of your knowledge and experience.

He is kind of favourable but as long as he has been on the post he has not been very keen on the whole library thing... gah.
