RenFest sounds really fun. I've always wanted to go to one of those. St. Augustine is a fun place to go. When I lived in Jacksonville, it was only a 45 minute drive away. My son and daughter both went there on school field-trips too. I accompanied my son when he went. It was nice to drive around the city on a little tram with a tour guide :) I liked touring the Fort. The men back then lived in really Spartan conditions. I know that I couldn't have done it!!!
Ah, someone who can help me figure out what all I should do while there... My maternal grandparents took my bro and me there when I was about 13, and I thought it was so cool. (HM and I went five years later, and it still was...^_^) They lived in Jax, too... 'swhere I was born, actually... heh.
Jax is a great city. It's the only city I know of where you can drive for over 45 minutes and still be in the Jax city limits :) I lived there from 1985 until January of this year.
In St. Augustine, I enjoyed walking through the Fort and the old part of town was neat. My husband and kids enjoyed the Ripley's Believe or Not Museum. Ewwww.... it grossed me out!!! You can hire a horse and carriage that will take you through the streets of town. I always wanted to do that, but the finances were never agreeable :)
Finances? What's that word mean? ^_~ Seriously, though, I understand. I can GO through some money... even if it didn't exist in RL in the first place. *bows* All Hail Master Card!
