I recently read Perfect Madness by Judith Warner and it got me thinking about motherhood on a lot of levels. I've been trying to write something coherent about this, and haven't had much luck, so here are just a few of my thoughts

I can also say that I have an incredible and involved husband, and that I have no idea how a person can parent without an equal partner. I am the one who stays home, but I want to. For me, staying home allows me to parent with much less stress. I want to take my kids hiking by the river; I want to bake cookies; I want to do art projects; I want to go to the Children's Museum. I want to rock, and kiss, and cuddle. I want to completely immerse myself in the role of mother right now, while it is new
