At my job you can clock in five minutes before your scheduled time. It's retail so it allows you to be at your station ready to work at the time you are scheduled. Now, on most clinics & wards it's the 5 mins early so you know where you are stationed. I like being that 5 mins early, as well, so I can fill my water bottle , speak to people ... and then be ready for 9 am
I bet if they were docked wages they would manage to turn uo on time.
