This saying really means a lot to me. I grew up being the one who had to be strong. Sometimes it just got to be so difficult. I think it fits Buffy so perfectly.
I tend to think that Buffy as a metaphor for the burdens women have to carry as a matter of course, writ large - as mothers and especially single mothers. Women are expected to "keep on keeping on" with smiles on our faces for the sake of other people. (I think some of the negative reactions to buffy in fandom reflect this very point.)
I think he was at the Elf Fair in Fl when that photo was taken. I ran across it somewhere and haven't seen it since.
Many people have to be strong for those they love. They are the ones who shoulder all the difficult things for them. Often the strong ones don't have a should to cry on when they need it. I don't cry often, but sometimes it would be nice to let someone else take care of things so I don't have to do it.

Love The John Barrowman GIF. He is so adorable.
Love the quote about crying and it is so true.
I giggled at the Joss Whedon, George RR Martin, and Stephen Moffat joke.

I love that image of James with the red/orange background - so great to see that wink.
That image of Buffy is brilliant - and so true for her. (and many of us!)
