Thanks, it helps. The part for my car came in last night so I can get my car inspected today. The last day before I would get fined. Whew!

I had to have my car MOT'd last week ... and it failed, but I was lucky that they had the parts they needed so I could get it passed all on the same day, and not have the car off the road ... more bills, but we need cars don't we?

Here we don't have bus service like they have in some countries. In Texas, you have to drive a lot just to get anywhere. My drive to work is only about 15 minutes, but in the past I spent over an hour going to work one way. If our cars are down, we don't go anywhere.

We have freezing rain here right now. It's about 30 degrees, but the wind makes it feel much colder. We may have icy roads in the morning. Might even have some snow. I'm so not looking forward to it.

Oh no, things just keep piling up on you, don't they? For a year that appears to have slipped by so quickly it did seem to bring it's unfair share of bother to many of us.

I do love that you still found a bright spot at least. Take care.

Hoping that 2014 is a better year for all of us. :D

I think my doctor was surprised how matter of fact I was when I told him I had shingles. Life seems to have decided to lump up all the angst on me at the last moment.

Holding out hope for 2014!

The meds seem to be helping with the pain. And yes, it does seem to slam on at the last moment this year. Thanks.

Oh you poor thing. All that and shingles on top of it all. I hope it's not too bad of a case. I (as I'm sure you have too) have heard such horror stories about shingles. Last month at my physical I asked my MD for a prescription for the shingles vaccine. Since I'm such a procrastinator the script is still sitting in my bag, your post made me remember I have to look into getting the shot.

Feel better!!

My doctor had mentioned it to me at my last visit. I explained I had had shingles twice in the past. I didn't think it would help prevent it. Now I read it might not prevent it, but might make it not so painful if it happens. The pain is so bad. Two days of odd pain before the rash pops up. Then it seems to be burning like crazy. The meds are huge pills that I have to take every eight hours. Those do lessen the pain till about the last hour to take the next one. Go get the shot. I'm getting one my next appointment.

I took your advise and got the shingles vaccine yesterday. I hate shots, but it was pretty easy. The funny part is the pharmacist assistant asked me a ton of question one of the questions was "is there a chance you could be pregnant?" I had a good laugh and told her "no, but thanks for asking."

Back when I was about to go into surgery for endometriosis (that was my thought, doctor thought it was a cyst), I got questioned about being pregnant. Then told I had to sign papers agreeing to a hysterectomy. I refused and they almost didn't do my surgery. Turned out I was right and the doctor was wrong. Asking a woman who was trying to get pregnant questions like that was very painful for me. Do they not read their charts?

I'm going to have the shot my next visit with the doctor. I just didn't know when he asked before if it would help or not.
