That was very good. A bit too heavy on the Bangel/early seasons stuff to suit me, but it certainly does go a long way to explaining Buffy's miserable life. Not sure if that was intentionally early-season-heavy to demonstrate how quickly her life became a constant battle, or if it's Bangel slanted and therefore had to zip past the other men in her life and the events from season 4 on. :)
The prompt I am using is friend/enemy. I wrote one about Angel and Buffy, but am trying to balance it out with other characters as well. The other drabbles are just floating around my mind at the moment.
Yes, this seems a bit heavy on the Bangel. The drabble I wrote is about how they were never friends, but being together was part of her path.
He was part of her path, definitely. And not ever really a friend. I don't have a problem with showing Angel's importance, I just feel it was too heavy on the seasons he was around and barely skimmed past Riley and Spike. Given that Spike arrived in season 2, that's pretty focused skimming. ;) But I know you'll do cool things with all the characters. :)
That is certainly amazing - Buffy was such a multi-layered character and that's why we love her.
Did you see the thing on American TV about Vampires .... I just saw a bit of what James said, and that it was he wished his daughter would watch Buffy (rather than Twilight), as she was a tough girl who didn't need to be in the shadows.
Yes, I did see the special. It was okay, but not much more than a PR thing for the new show Dracula.
Yes, James says that the Twilight books got her to reading like the Harry Potter series did for other kids. She isn't interested in Buffy. Think it might be a problem for her to see James as Spike. Bella is a wimp, but Buffy is a hero.
Yes, I thought the same .... he wants her to watch a female hero, but is glad of Twilight as a way of getting her reading. However, maybe, of all people, she would find it weird to watch BtVS ... especially some episodes!!!

But I do hope it inspires some drabbles from you!

I am still letting the ideas form so I will try to post in the next few days. I just can't seem to get things down.
