I ran across this and one point caught my eye.

I like that analogy. I think I'm a gardener. :) But I admire architects. I wish I could be that organized and thoughtful. I'd have fewer plot holes to plug when I reread things. :)

My whole life is being produced by a gardener I think. I bumble around with no plans. LOL!

I would love to be an architect type and have things sorted out. Never going to happen to me. Life throws me and I have to shift around the roadblocks. My writing is very much like my life. It happens in spurts.

I'm a gardener and a pretty haphazard one at that. Tried the other way once or twice, it just doesn't work for me.

Sometimes I have an idea of where I'm going, but often it takes a life of it's own. Often it turns it's self completely around and even becomes a different idea.

A new perspective on writing.

I never looked at it this way but I am a gardner. I tend to just start and let the characters take me along for the ride.

Doing an outline never got me where the story ended up. The characters take over and go where they want to go.
