Buffyverse Gets Its First Gay Male Slayer(well, not a real Slayer, but warrior)

When I first saw this headline, I thought of Andrew of course.
But it isn't Andrew, it's Billy.  He isn't really a Slayer, but a
male vampire slayer sort of like Xander or Robin Wood.

WOW

Getting a gay male "Slayer". I would have thought Andrew as well. Billy must be a new character for the Buffyverse. I glad to see more gay characters in fandoms. Go Buffyverse!!!!! fist willow and Tara next Andrew, and now Billy. (I don't like Kennedy so I don't count her)

I thought you didn't care for the comics though.

I don't like the comics, but I do like that the writers chose to add a gay character and present that character as a strong warrior. I think it's good to show that heroes come in all kinds of packages.

He isn't really a slayer. He is like Xander or Robin. He saw what was happening in his town and decided to fight vampires. It explains it in the links.

Amy, Donna, Rose, or Martha were right beside the Dr fighting. The writers of the comics decided it was time to show a gay male character who is able to be a hero. It's to show that being different doesn't mean you can't be strong, do the right thing or be a hero. Even Cordy got to dust a vampire in BTVS. She had been bait for the group and since it was her last episode, Charisma asked Joss if she could dust a vamp. You don't have to a slayer or the Dr to be a hero. You just have to care and be pro active.
