Dark Shadows Featurette

I have mixed feelings about this. I so wanted a straight up film, but
Tim Burton and Johnny Depp took a different turn with it. It will either
be very good or just horrible. Please don't destroy my love of Dark Shadows.

There's a Dark Shadows comic out now (not spectacular, but I've bought all four of them) that helped me remember some of what the show was about. I remember watching ('cause, hey, vampire! on TV!), but I really only remembered tiny bits and pieces of it. So, I'm not worried about being disappointed and I think Johnny Depp can probably play the hell out of Barnabas. :)

I so adore Johnny Depp. I am just a bit afraid of what the take will be. Might be too campy. I loved the original series. Cause like you said, Vampires. When I saw early makeup styles of Johnny as Barnabas...it just screamed Michael Jackson in his later years. That's what worried me.

I'm going to see it no matter what. Cause it's Dark Shadows and Johnny Depp. I love both of them.

Tommy and I went to see The Raven this week. I wanted to see Joss' Cabin in the Woods. Tommy was afraid it was too gory for him so we saw the other film and it was gory. Tommy still loved it because of John Cusack is one of his fanboy actors favs.

Chad tried to get into see Cabin but he couldnt convince them he was 15 LOL He only told me he had done this after he had done it, the little get!

So the Raven? Was it worth going to see?

Tommy liked it. I enjoyed it. It was a bit simple in plot for me. I think it would be fine to watch on DVD. Not really one of those pictures you need to see on the big screen.

I actually didn't know until I saw the trailer I was so surprised and not in a good way. I just shook my head, Thinking this just can't work. Oh well, we'll see.

I was so excited when I heard that Depp was doing Dark Shadows. Then I saw his makeup for the character. Was so disappointed. Dark Shadows was done as a serious soap back in the day. It was campy without meaning to be campy. This...I just don't know if it will work or not.
