Why? Why do people add you as a friend without even talking to you?
Once again I've been sent a notice that a stranger has friended me.

*shrugs* It happens. I have a stated policy of not automatically friending back (cause there are a lot of people just there for the fic), so I don't feel guilty about just ignoring them if I don't see anything on the profile that indicates we might have enough in common to actually become "friends". :)

It happens to me quite a bit because of my user name. I check out the profile and then ban them if it looks odd. This person wasn't anywhere in fandom.

I wasn't sure if they were a spambot or not, but banned them from my journal. The last couple of years, I had several spambots and reported them.

guilty I'm one of those, I do add people as friends, mostly because of their profile page or something interesting they wrote. I'm a profile peeping tom, repeat offender. I remember your flixters page was just as awesome as your lj page and people were falling over trying to be your friend, hehe including me. What can I say kuda, you hook them and then block them. heartbreaker,lol.

Hee! I was thrilled when you added me as a friend. I overjoyed when you came to LJ. I did have some odd people on Flixters adding me. Here it's often Russians who don't even have their pages in English. WTF? You bet I block them, but never you.
