Dang, it's still icy here around Big D.

All of the local school ended up closing on Tues here. We got snow,
but it's the ice that is staying around. Our roads out where I live are
still heavy with ice. If I could get past our neighborhood, the roads are better.
Just not enough traffic here to make them better.

Now this morning around the Dallas area, we are having rolling black outs

Thanks. We are not set up for this type of weather here in TX. Yesterday was the coldest day in fifteen years. We do not have salt trucks like they do up north. We have trucks that sand the roads, but only the major ones. Since we have the Super Bowl next weekend, they are sanding more around that area since we have people coming in for that. So our local areas are not getting as much attention.

I will admit "icy" is not what I would think of whan I think of Texas.

Icy is the worst case for us. Snow seldom lasts a day because it is usually at most an inch or two. The problem is when things melt and overnight freeze. It's slick ice on the roads. Even our Dart rail system which is like a streetcar is closed due to ice on the rails.

We have maybe one or two ice storms a year. So we do not have salt trucks to melt it and have no clue how to drive on it when we try.

I have a friend locally, called Sharon, she loves her skating - I'll get her to send you a spare pair of skates!

LOL, I wouldn't last two minutes on a pair of skates. I can't even stand up on regular skates. Maybe send snow skis instead.

Icy roads are so not nice! Whenever we have icy roads here it always causes problems. They don't shut down schools and workplaces but everybody takes more time to get where they need to go. 4 wheel drive must be a good thing now. I do hope that the electric doesn't cause to many problems. Stay safe!!!

So far my electric hasn't gone off. It has gone off in the city where edenskye lives, but I haven't heard from him. It may not have gone off in the part of the city where he is. He often sleeps late on his days off. I'm not going out unless something happens.

This is rare. Most of the US is having problems with this weather right now. We were okay till yesterday. Crazy weather. It's warmer up north than it is here today.
