Hi, my name is Kuda. I dislike Riley.

I ran across a link from moscow_watcher   about this review of As You Were.
I always disliked Riley.  I just couldn't express it well enough to post about it.  This
review on this episode goes into all the reasons I hate this episode and Riley himself.

Totally wonderful review of As You Were!

Thanks - until I started reading fan-fic I thought I was the only one who didn't like Riley ... and blamed that on many things ... especially the stabbing of Spike, with the plastic stake.

I shall go and read this link when I have a second.

Riley really ticked me off when he tried to make everything Buffy's fault about their relationship. He went to the vamp trolls to get suck jobs and twisted it to make it Buffy's fault. He reminds me of my ex. Ex would do horrible things and mess with my mind making me feel it was all my fault. Riley justified his actions while doing mind games on Buffy. Riley was weak.

DITTO TO EVERYTHING!

Brandon, who is now into season 5 of Buffy, can't stand Riley. I said nothing to him and let him draw his own conclusions. He thinks Riley is a duche and loves when Spike pokes at him with witty banter the Neanderthal doesn't understand. *snickers* I think it's so uber cool that Brandon loves Spike. ;)

Riley looked good on the surface, but had a rotten core.

Brandon is uber cool. How couldn't he be with an uber cool mom?

One thing I loved about Spike was when he pointed out all the sore spots in things. Others ignored them and put on happy faces, but not Spike. He spoke the truth and got everyone nervous about it. Like his "You'll never be friends" speech in Lovers Walk or his "Hell of a woman" in Touched. Spike always got the greats speeches.

I can only agree with that review. I really couldn't stand the episodes he was is. If it weren't for Spike and the interactions I would have skipped those. Glad to read that I'm not the only one to dislike Riley with a passion. Talk about double standards and Riley just pops up.

There were plot holes big enough to drive beer trucks through in that episode. None of what happened made sense.

Riley is my least favorite character. I just can't like him. This was a great review on that episode. Glad you enjoyed it.
