It always amazes me how people who can have kids easily, really don't treat their kids well. Then those who would be perfect parents aren't able to have them.
That Octomom and the idiot this week who led the media to believe his son was in a hot air balloon that looked like a space ship this week to try to get a reality show are two people who do not deserve kids.
Yes - it does seem to work the wrong way round! A friend I was at college with really wanted kids, married - they both had good jobs and are truly lovely people. Tried everything, including IVF and ended up adopting - although I suppose in this case 2 girls have a great future now.
Yes, God has a way of giving us what we need and using us as needed. Your friends had the gift of love to give to two girls who needed them. In return, your friends have a gift that is to be cherished.
I so get RL getting in the way. A child to me is a gift you have to cherish. Sadly too many children are not treated like the gift they are.
Harvey Milk :D
I get mad when people talk about how Gays should not have the same rights to marriage or children. I know my best friend would be a wonderful husband and father if he had the rights. I know so many straight people who don't deserve the gift of love or a child who have it only to trash it.
I know what you mean. My nephew, who is probably the straightest guy I know, would make the most wonderful father, but the girls just don't want to know, because he doesn't want to go out partying - or treat them like pieces of meat, existing only to get him off.
Discussing S6 with gabrielleabelle at the mo but, re: my nephew, he's also the coolest of straight guys (actually more my best mate than a nephew 20 years my junior). When Spike was constantly taking his shirt off (don't know whether you'll have spotted that :-) ..!), he was always chuckling when I'd start whimpering & crossing my legs.
I love him to bits, and the girl who digs beyond his taciturn exterior, is going to be the luckiest of people.
Yes, my best friend's family views his life somewhat differently. Some are interested and some just ignore it. Some are supportive and others just live in their own little tight worlds.
Spike shirtless or pantless, nope never noticed. LOL. Luckily edenskye, my best friend, and I both enjoy a bit of nekidness on our favorite characters. It something we agree on completely.

He has looked into it and it isn't easy for a single gay man to adopt in TX. Would almost have to be a private adoption. They talked for awhile about changing the law so that gays couldn't even foster in TX. Few countries allow gays to adopt even. If he had a partner it might be easier, but he hasn't met someone he wants to be with long term. Money is always tight as well.
He would be such a great dad. Hurts he isn't able to give all the love he has to some lucky child.

Awe to bad, I have a gay friend and his partner that just adopted a little 3 year old girl named Olivia. Man,it's so cute how happy olivia made them. They just sent out their Christmas card with all three of them dressed in their holiday best. So cute, that they sent the card out so early, but you could imagine how happy they are for their first xmas together.

Some of these really make you think about your life, and friends, don't they?
