Ok.. This is a little late on the uptake, but I saw The Grudge on Friday and I just want to say WOW.. Fukcing WOW. This is one of the best horror movies I have seen in ages. It is incredibly directed and beautifully crafted. The effect of it is haunting even days after seeing it. Sarah Michelle Gellar showed something she hasn't shown since ( Read more... )

You should try to compare the American version to the Japanese Version

After seeing the american version I actually want to see the original. Being as how it is directed by the same person I am sure they are similar. I look forward to being able to compare them.

I don't ever listen to critics, because most of them wouldn't know a good film if it slithered into their ass and laid eggs. Everyone I know that has seen it, liked it. I am a horror fan and have seen my fair share of bad horror genre films, this to me, was not one of those. I liked it and I stand by that.

Tell me you're joking- I left that theatre wishing I bought an overpriced burrito and flan than have spent $10 on that movie-- it was *ok*- but it wasn't all that terrifying or horrifying or anything-- that kid was just silly looking and it just didn't make me flinch the way a good horror film ought to...and who the hell finds a lil kid and doesn't call the cops right away?!?
Eh- maybe I'm more of a suspense thriller kinda guy-- this film just seemed silly.

I wasn't concerned with the kid at all.. He was kind of flat and secondary. The woman is what I liked. It is funny to hear all the negative comments from people, being as how I was in a packed theatre and there were lots of people jumping. I think a lot of us are just too desensitized because of the lack of decent horror fimls and that may be why we can't genuinely enjoy the good ones.
