Hey now...back off the Batman Begins. =o) Some of us thought that was a piece of moviemaking genius there. Tee hee...but, I know what you are sayin'. ;o)

Now I'm wondering what brought this comment on, though I do agree-- for example, the Dukes of Hazzard is not something I would waste my money or time on. I know, I'm a snob, but unless someone's going to pay me to review it, I'm not going to watch it.

I'm going to address Dear Wendy momentarily, on my own page. All is not lost, though: Mysterious Skin was something I cannot praise too highly. Batman Begins, even though it is part of a franchise, was far more creative than one would expect. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, also part of a franchise, pulled it back from childhood kitsch and actually made a film, and not a paint-by-numbers retread of the book. So all is not lost!

And for something that was not originally inspired by a book or a comic (like all the three I mentioned above), Jim Jarmusch's latest is supposed to be quite good. Then again, like Mysterious Skin, maybe it's based on a book that I've never heard of.
