I'm sorry to hear about all of that, but crushing realities are a part of growing up - all of the lies that our parents told us over the years, things like Santa and the stork and 'grandpa is going to sleep for a long time', all disappear when we learn the real truth, and that messes us up. It's something everyone deals with, so you've got comrades in your misery.

We also all want to be someone we're not, but we can only be who we are and only change that fact through conscious and careful work. If you've got a specific person in mind, you can help that along by emanating their better qualities in yourself, or at least trying to.

you mean emulating, not emanating.

and everything you're saying is bull. it's no better than anything else. you can't draw a line between what your parents say and what you say. anyone who thinks they understand is deceiving themselves.

you can't even say with certainty that there is a real truth. i don't want to be anyone but myself, but i want taht self to be very different. i don't think anyone can change.
so disheartening.

Shush you, I was tired.

Deception is the key to living - how else do you think anyone manages to survive?
