For what it's worth http://www.pbt.org/kids/positions.html gives you the "five positions." You should totally keep in mind that the pictures are of a long-term dancer and that serious dancers are the only people who can get their feet to turn out that much! All positions have your feet turned out (ankles in, toes pointing out) and are just variations of where your legs (and arms, but that's moot for this) are in relation to one another. And five years of ballet will get them firmly drilled into your head along with "plie, overtop, straighten up, and come down."
Anyway, fourth position is a couple things: 1) feet turned out; 2) one foot spaced in front of the other; 3) your feet in line with each other (not at shoulder width apart, but you'd fall over if you tried to stand that way forever). See, nothing to it.
