That is beautiful...I can't do embroidery very well. I used to do it when I was real young. I've got a picture of a blouse I made way back in 1976, I think it was....I think I'm going to have to try to take it up again so that I do something other than hang on the computer during the evening.
Here's the secret--I don't embroider very well either. Or at least I don't particularly enjoy it...although this is being pretty cooperative. It's nice to have something to do with my hands in the evening, though, even if I just want to sit around after work instead of working on a big project, or cutting stuff out on the floor, or whatever.
Thank you! your opinion means a lot on this, for obvious reasons (you crazy woman with HOW many regency dresses?!) It's going faster than I had hoped, which is nice. I still won't be able to get the sleeves, neck, and hem done in six weeks (less, now), because the hem is crazy, but I am very confident that it'll be wearable, if not totally complete.
Thanks...I can definitely tell I'm getting faster as I go, which is comforting. Like I told Katherine above, I won't be able to get the hem done in my six week time frame (I want to wear this March 27), because the hem is super intricate...but I can definitely finish the sleeves and neckline by then. And still probably have time to make a new chemise!
