In honor of New Years (by which I really mean "having a day off,") I went across the state for a couple days to visit my friend and former roommate Julie. Oh, my gosh. I'm adding this to my memories. Because in case you've forgotten (ha) we have a pecan tree and TWO pear trees on our small lot. And every other year our pears and pecans overfloweth. There are remarkably few recipes that deal with pears!

Heh, I remember. I was secretly boggled by pecans actually coming from trees. (You know, like city kids can't believe milk doesn't come from a carton, but from cows.) But this recipe is one of those actually-not-that-hard-even-though-it-looks-fancy types, and one of the only things I've ever made with pears. I look forward to hearing how it works for you!
