No, I’m not talking about the movie - although, it’s good, so watch it if you haven’t.

In three weeks I’ll be attending my first conference. It’s a small conference in Tulsa, OK. That’s okay, I think I need to deal with small before I kill my claustrophobic self ( Read more... )

I'm sure you're going to be fine. They accepted your work because they saw something in you - so your next novel is going to be fine :D Just may need a little more revision than the last one you showed her.

It's a relief to know people who already have agents get this way too. Thank you for sharing.

I think you get more confident as you go along. But it's more a matter of a reader 'getting' what you're doing, fitting with your style, etc, than being 'good' or 'bad'. If the editor doesn't like it, it may mean it just doesn't fit their needs...

I really hope so. The confidence thing will come with time, I know, but I still worry about it all the time lol.
Here's to hoping there's someone out there who's needs match what I have to show :D

I do that all the time! It's so good to know others feel the same way. Perspective is hard to find.

Procrastination can be your worst enemy. I know from experience, and it gets you nowhere but miserable. I can understand that it would be hard to show your "baby" to other people as you've poured your heart and soul into it. But criticism (good and bad) is something you will have to get used to, especially in your chosen field. Some people will love your work, others will hate it. But you're only going to get better as a writer if you take on the constructive criticism and learn from it. Some people are just total pricks out there and just slam everything that they are shown - those people you ignore. You do have a talent, and I know you well enough to know you're not quite sure how to handle compliments. I'm exactly the same! The anxiety and fear is going to happen, but if you didn't feel that way about your writings, then there wouldn't be any point in doing it, would there? Be strong and you'll make it! *hugs*

It's all perfectly normal.

And after it's published, you'll worry about the reviews. You think you've got the jitters now. LOL.

I love that you said After it's published :D Thank you! I'd hate to think of those jitters - these ones are bad enough.
