lol, was that on the Colbert Report? Cuz that was really President Bush (at least I think so, or a really good impersonator) in some parts of that they obviously cut him into. Loved it.
yeah I showed it to one of my friends who loves Colbert and she was like "Val it's real!" I guess I am just surprised that 1) he was allowed to say those things and 2) that even if he was told he could say whatever he wanted, given the President's lack of laughter (he probably didn't get half the jokes anyways) I'm surprised Colbert wasn't sent to Guantanomo.
I especially love the part where Bush had to have a joke explained to him by the person sitting to the left of him. LOVE IT.
I hadn't actually seen this. Thank you.:)
And ah...don't blame me. I was a few months too young to vote against him in 2000 and I drove everyone I knew to the polls in 2004-provided they would vote for Kerry.
Kerry might have been a douche but he wasn't an idiot.
Heres to hoping for a democratic overthrow in 2008.
So I'm a Canadian and we all hate Bush here... Oh wait, we voted in Harper... (don't blame me! I voted NDP). Anyway there aren't many Bush enthusiasts here... I've heard that the Republicans aren't very popular over there for the next election though. Or maybe I'm just being hopeful.
See, unlike a lot of Americans, I actually pay attention and I've studied my history. I remembered, for example, that during World War II there were HUGE propaganda campaigns both in Nazi Germany and in the rest of the world. The same people who told us Communism was evil told the Germans that Hitler was basically the Second Coming. The media's propaganda bullshit machines. They stir up fear and hate fueled by ignorance. The government used the media to make damn sure the people were afraid of the truth, and it worked. People were so afraid of the truth, they ignored it, and swallowed whatever bullshit story the media fed them. They were essentially brainwashed. No one was brave enough to tell them to read Marx for themselves to see just how awful an idea communism would be. And it's not, really, it just wouldn't work on a large scale. Then again, I could almost be accused of being a socialist, which is almost as bad

1. He's a Republican, and they've lost a LOT of credibility in the last six years. He's also a Republican who CAN be trusted. He did a few tours of duty in Vietnam and knows the true weight of the decision to send troupes into war, unlike our current DRAFT DODGING president. He genuinely tries to reach across the aisle and work with people of both parties to get good things accomplished. The base will vote for him because he's a Republican, and moderates on both sides will vote for him because he's moderate on a lot of issues. I'm very liberal and I don't agree with him on everything, but I'd vote for him WAY before I'd vote for that fat fucker Tommy Thompson (who was involved with investigating 9/11
