Prince is in town and one of my co-workers is going to see the concert tonight. He never knew that Prince had a band called 'Prince and the Revolution' nor has he heard about Wendy and Lisa before...
Has he never seen a little movie called "Purple Rain"? Sure, the acting's horrible, but viewing it should be a prerequisite for anyone that wants to be considered a Prince fan.
He was too young when the movie came out. Maybe it was considered 'old' material by the time he was old enough to watch it? It was on VH1 the other night, which brings me to a question maybe you can answer.

There is this one scene of some guitarist on stage and he looked a lot like the guy that used to be in the Revolution at one time (for the album 1999). Dez I think his name was? I was wondering if Dez was in the movie Purple Rain, even though he was no longer part of the Revolution by that time.
You're right. Dez Dickerson was with The Revolution on 1999. He quit the group, but I guess he and Prince were still friends and Prince agreed to let him have a cameo appearance in "Purple Rain" with his new band The Modernaires. That confused me when "Purple Rain" first came out, since Dez sounds a lot like Prince. I thought His Purpleness was performing in disguise.
