I've thought of doing the same thing at times. I even got so far as downloading WordPress, but Gillian and I just don't post enough to bother setting up and maintaining a blog.

Let me just weigh in here and say that I am in favor of "grown-up blogs" of the sort you've proposed here. But you should also know that if your posts don't have brief, centered, grey quotations at the bottom of each post, I will honestly have trouble transitioning.
