The Egyptian is a fantastic picture that is often overlooked. It has a lot of familiar faces if you're into classic movies. It has finally come out on Blu-Ray. Several people are offering it on thepiratebay if you'd like to get a look at it that way, and it's on youtube in the usual ten-minute sections.
An interesting parallel exists between this and The Ten Commandments (which you can see here). Many actors wanted to be in both pictures, but DeMille did not want to cast anyone who'd been in The Egyptian. Only John Carradine and Mimi Gibson managed to be in both films. What DeMille did use from The Egyptian were the sets and costumes and some important props (including one that you see in the clip we posted), which Zanuck sold back to the studio. So the reason you feel like you're right back in the same Throne Room and some of the other places shown in The Ten Commandments is that, well, you are.
Heh. Yeah that is interesting. I can see why he wouldn't want the same actors in both.
I don't know a whole lot about classic movies. I've seen a little bit of early Dr. Who but that's about it.
The same thing happens with CG props and rigs these days, because it's getting so expensive to craft one of the really highly detailed characters. Extras from one Pixar animation appearing in another one, for example, or revamping something like the Gollum rig in a different context.

A search on "classic movies" on Youtube can be surprisingly helpful. Also search on "pre-Code" to see the racy stuff from the early days.
Metropolis (very influential to F&SF pictures to this day)
Midsummer Night's Dream (1935)
Casablanca
Call Northside 777
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Importance of Being Earnest (1952)
My Little Chickadee

Bonus track: Alexander Nevsky
